Both my kids (7 & 5) are in aikido and swimming. The older one goes to piano lessons and online lego young engineering course. the younger one does the online drawing course. Aikido and swimming were life skills, but the others were enrolled because of their interests and they asked for them.
@Rhys Tokyo International Players has English acting workshops, these are fun , and also provide opportunities to be onstage in front of real audiences!
@Rhys I imagine it’s things like English school which seems common, playing football or swimming (my ex coworker enrolled his son into those), piano lessons and things of that sort.
@Rhys It seems that among Japanese children abacus is also a popular after school program. Recently learning programing from an early age is considered favorable too.
