Lately the international news has covered recent research about 10,000 steps a day. It turns out that, while the idea that 10,000 steps to good health was part of an unscientific claim from a Japanese pedometer company, all those steps apparently do have a positive outcome. https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/wN4jZ-medical_ibaraki_saitama_chiba_tokyo_kanagawa
Does your lifestyle here in Japan make you walk a lot? Do you think you hit that target?
@Elizabeth TotoE do you have a smart watch that counts your steps and tracks your heartbeat? I don’t have any app, and I have no way of measuring. I do run on a regular basis though because I am training for a half marathon, and sometimes I wish I knew my heart rate.
I had a pedometer app on my phone back then and it was under 10,000 daily steps. I think it was around 6,000 when I was going to work, walking maybe 40 minutes in total. On a day off I walked maybe 500 steps lmao.
I've uninstalled the app now but I try to go on a 1h daily morning walk. I find it difficult to stay active on a daily basis but the daily morning walk works quite well for me ^^
