Favorite spots (any recommendation?) (Tohoku region)

I'd like to visit the Jomon prehistoric sites and related museums there.

I believe there's a famous one in Akita.

I've always loved Jomon period, especially the pottery pieces and I like ancient civilizations in general so it's part of my to visit list 😊

Bump! The end of year holiday is coming up. What do you recommend for winter getaways in Tohoku? Or do you just get away from Tohoku when it's cold?
