I've had great experiences with Airbnb hosts on weekend trips. Just be really selective. I suggest going with hosts that live in or next to the property. They tend to be cleaner and well maintained. The few times I used Airbnb places that cater to long term visitors, they were really dirty and the hosts were not on site to clean up common spaces.
I have stayed in AirBNBs a few times, all were good experience and some were even the same accomodation as on other sites, such as booking, with a cheaper price!
I have tried air bnb's a lot of times, there are really helpful and affordable. Also they give you access to the whole apartment so you can cook according to your choice. And most owners arevery nice.
@PeteYou're right, business hotels are cheap but not quite wide. Also they can't make dishes for their own so my parents wouldn't stay there willingly for a month. I'm sorry but not sure what do you mean by risks. What are the risks with AirBnb?
@Balbesz Tokyo you have what they call Guest Houses or Shared houses. Those are a bit more long term and you share facilities such as showet rooms. However if you look for a weekly mansion as the name suggest it weekly and those usually go for roughly 5000 to 7000 yen a day. They are pretty comfortable as it’s basically like a hotel where all your amenities are within your room including cable tv and internet. I believe Sakura house does all three but a quick research on the internet should give you their locations.
Or if you mean rental property for a longer period, you can go to a normal real estate agent and they can help you.
