I'm not a big fan of osechi because I prefer warmer and "rawer" food. I got kombu maki as leftovers from my husband's family's new year gathering so I ate them with standard meals after the new year 😂
Nice that soup is called Ozoni. Chew it slowly!😀
I also had a small osechi meal this New Years morning. The large chunks of mochi in the soup are a little hard to chew, but it is very traditional.
