Ehime's a beautiful place with a lot of natural beauty and history. I haven't been in years, so I don't know where to eat! Can you recommend restaurants, izakaya, even bars?
It's been years since I've been in Ehime, too. I was there very briefly in 2019, but the last time I spent significant time there was in 2017. So specific places to eat are not "up my alley," but I'd definitely eat Imabari yakitori. That is a treat. They do it a bit differently than pretty much everywhere else in Japan. It's actually grilled on a teppan. With most of Ehime's coastline along the Seto Inland Sea, the fresh fish dishes are pretty darn irresistible, too. Have a great trip!
@TotoE It's excellent. I think the only drawback to it is that they serve it in pretty large quantities. Since it's not on skewers, it isn't three or four pieces on a stick. By the 4th or 5th plate, I was stuffed. I wanted to try even more varieties, but I just couldn't do it. It was better the second time around, when there were more people in our group. The portions were the same size, but with more mouths to feed, we could eat a greater variety of yakitori. In terms of gripes, though, I'd say that it is a very small gripe to have to deal with. Bon apetit!
