Are there particular spots in Japan that you've visited that evoke a sense of romance? I'm captivated by haiku and it's spurred me and my dates to visit places associated with haiku poets. https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/zKbrD-living_hiraizumi_cho_iwate_soka_shi_saitama_nagareyama_shi_chiba
These photos are beautiful!
I couldn't find a shareable photo, but Soka Matsubara is a place in Saitama that is where Matsuo Basho started his journey to the north to write his journal of poems and stories "Oku-no Hoso-michi" (Narrow Road to the Deep North. It has a long series of bridges and hundreds of pine trees alongside, making it a picturesque place, but one that is difficult to capture beautifully as it is around a kilometer in length. Since there is a lot of modern construction in the area, it requires imagination to see how beautiful it must've been during the Edo Period.
My friend was once invited on a date to the top of Skytree at sunset. I think that must also be so romantic. I also like Haiku though, these places in your blog sound nice.
I think one of the most romantic places in Japan is Otaru in Hokkaido. It's a gorgeous seaside town–small, cozy, and scenic, with great seafood. another one is the "Bikanchiku" part of Kurashiki Okayama. That area has restored Edo Period (1603-1867) merchant houses and waterways with tour boats. Photo by Vicky Ng on Unsplash
