Chiba Prefecture where I live has some great autumn foliage spots that aren't crowded. This spot report at Shimizu Park, Noda City, is from two weeks ago but this week the colors are hitting their peak. It looks like this weekend is the best time to go. https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/MERdP-living_matsudo_shi_chiba

On Sunday, I visited Noda's elegant locations, a manor house that has gardens that take on brilliant hues in late November. Not all of the momiji have turned colour yet, so there's still time to take in this garden that rivals Kyoto and Tokyo locations for beauty. https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/wN4J0-living_noda_shi_chiba
Hondoji, Matsudo City is famed for its hydrangeas and is also a lovely spot in autumn. This report is from four days ago, and at that point, the momiji just starting to turn. https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/TonetoEdo/MERdP-living_matsudo_shi_chiba
